CSO: Holmes, Mozart, Tchaikovsky

NZSO Principal Flute Bridget Douglas joins CSO as soloist for Mozart's Flute Concerto No. 2, a showcase of elegance, lyrical melodies, and technical brilliance.

Tchaikovsky’s fifth symphony – the epitome of a blockbuster symphony – shows off all sections of the orchestra. A masterwork for lifetime symphonic fans and newcomers to the orchestra alike.

The concert opens with Ancient Rhythms by Aotearoa composer Leonie Holmes. Its raw, expressive power “seems to awaken our animal instincts.”
